Fifty Years of Terry Pratchett

Euan Macrae

I’m sure many of you recall young Euan Macrae, who was my guest at last year’s Discworld convention.  I had already met him as a result of an approach from the Make-a-Wish foundation because he had a very serious and complex illness.  There was a huge incongruity in watching him become the champion Assassin in the Battle of the Guilds, and he was fully aware of it.  At the press conference for Hogfather (he was the Mob’s guest for the day there, too) Euan asked all the best questions.  I have seldom met a brighter kid.

He came to Death’s attention on Sunday 2nd September
and he’s going to be sadly missed.
