A treat just in time for Christmas, Terry Pratchett’s five Tiffany Aching books are being reissued with brand new covers, as reimagined by cover designing prodigy Leo Nickolls and featuring the work of long-time Discworld illustrator Paul Kidby. These will publish on 9th December 2023.
Tiffany Aching wants to be a witch when she grows up. A proper one, with a pointy hat. And flying. And as the twentieth granddaughter of her Granny Aching: shepherdess extraordinaire, and protector of the land, Tiffany knows the most important thing a real witch can do is protect others with their magic. So, when the monsters of Fairyland kidnap her brother, Tiffany decides it’s up to her to defend her home, even if she’s only armed with a frying pan and her common sense.
Published by Puffin, the five new covers will span Tiffany’s first Discworld book, The Wee Free Men – which includes a special introduction from Rhianna Pratchett, whose book with Gabrielle Kent Tiffany Aching’s Guide to Being a Witch publishes next month – through A Hat Full of Sky, Wintersmith, I Shall Wear Midnight and The Shepherd’s Crown.
When approaching Discworld, there’s no one correct way – chronological, by character arc, or – if you choose a more chaotic route – completely at random (though this would, admittedly, be nearer to the wrong way). So, for those who want to dive wholeheartedly into the story of Tiffany Aching, here’s the perfect way to traverse her full Discworld series in all its newfound glory.
