Calling all designers! Create your own version of a classic Discworld cover…

Penguin UK has launched its annual cover design award contest where all UK and Ireland-based designers can submit their own designs for two classic Penguin titles.

This year’s focus is fantasy and the selected titles are Night Watch by Terry Pratchett, and A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L’Engle.

This is an opportunity to take on the role of a book cover designer and build your portfolio, receiving feedback from a Penguin Art Director on your submission. The contest is targeted specifically at UK and Ireland-based designers and illustrators who haven’t yet had significant experience in a paid creative role – that includes anyone aged 18 or over who is yet to break into the creative industry, students from all subjects and recent graduates.

Prizes include a six-month mentorship with a designer at Penguin, as well as a Wacom Intuos Pro Medium tablet and Penguin books to the value of £100.
